RecSchool

RecSchool is a child-centered early childhood program for pre-kindergarten children operated by the Grove City Parks and Recreation Department and licensed by the State of Ohio.

The RecSchool staff is made up of established professionals with a variety of early childhood educational backgrounds. The program's philosophy recognizes that children learn best through meaningful play, and the curriculum supports cognitive, physical and social development through art, literacy, music, math and science experiences. This nurturing environment prepares students for successful experiences in school and beyond by fostering competence, social skills, independence, creativity and a love of learning.

RecSchool is held at Gantz Barn in beautiful Gantz Park. The program operates from September through May. Half-day classes are offered one, two or three days per week with morning classes meeting from 9-11:30 a.m. and afternoon classes meeting from 12:30-3 p.m. Children enrolled in the 2010-11 program must be three years old by September 30, 2010.

To be placed on the mailing list to receive registration information for RecSchool, please call 614-871-6330 or e-mail Michele Demmy. Registration for the 2010-11 school year will begin in February 2010. All parents interested in registering for the program must observe a class and meet with the RecSchool coordinator.

Directions

The Gardens at Gantz Farm is located at 2255 Home Road.

From the North:
I-71 South to I-270 West toward Dayton (Exit #101), turn right. Continue northwest approximately 2 miles to US 62 (Exit #2). Turn left and proceed south for 0.3 miles to Home Road. Turn left onto Home Road and travel east for 0.8 miles to Gantz Park.

From the South:
I-71 North to US 62 (Exit #94). Turn right and proceed north approximately 6.5 miles to Home Road. Turn left and continue east 0.8 miles to Gantz Park.

From the East:
I-70 east to I-270 (Exit #108 A-B for Cincinnati), merge onto I-270. Proceed southwest approximately 11 miles to US 62 (Exit #2). Turn right and travel south 0.3 miles to Home Road. Turn left and proceed east 0.8 miles to Gantz Park.

From the West:
Follow I-70 East toward Columbus and merge onto I-270 (Exit # 93A toward Cincinnati). Continue on I-270 South 6.4 miles to US 62 (Exit #2). Turn right and travel south 0.3 miles to Home Road. Turn left and proceed east 0.8 miles to Gantz Park.
